Welcome

Wigginton Pre-School takes children from any religious or cultural background. Children can start from 2 years 6 months after an initial settling in observation. The termly intake will vary according to the number of places available, the maximum being 28 children in the preschool hall. Children are required to attend a minimum of 2 sessions per week, increasing term by term subject to availability.

Wigginton Pre-school is open to all, offering a homely approach where children are wrapped in care and able to explore by themselves. Our wide range of stimulating and fun activities  enables our children to learn through play. It is a happy setting,  caring atmosphere where each child has plenty of interactions with adults and peers which helps them to build their confidence. We place great emphasis on being kind to one another, build confidence and independence in preparation for big school whilst still having lots of fun. We are a feeder setting to local primary schools and work with schools during transitions.

Wendy Docherty is the SENCo at Wigginton Pre-School, she has trained to a Level 3 through Best Practise and Young in Herts courses in Hertfordshire. Please note we have limited spaces available for children with additional needs due to staff numbers and resources., and these spaces are currently allocated. Please enquire if you would like further information on SEN spaces

We offer our parents extended hours, government funding schemes 15hrs, 30-hours and now 9-23 hour funding Monday - Friday.  After lunch club children have the opportunity to continue to play until the end of the session where we have singing or a story in the home corner.

As well as our fabulous garden we use the village in our curriculum with visits to the park, sports field, and our Forest School at St Bartholomew's Church on a weekly basis.

We have continued to promote some elements of hygiene from the Coronavirus outbreak in 2020, due to the fact the hall is hired out for local groups we complete daily cleaning surfaces where individuals touch, such as door handles & work surfaces.

All visits need to be made in advance to avoid the children getting upset and all visitors will be signed in.
